If you are an HR professional based in Rutherford County, Tennessee,
or the surrounding area(s), we encourage you to become a member of
the Stones River Chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management!
Our chapter offers the following membership classifications:
Professional Members
Professional membership shall be limited to those individuals who are engaged in the profession of human resource management and either:
a) Possess at least three years of exempt-level human resource management experience;
b) Are certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute;
c) Are faculty members holding an assistant, associate or full professor rank in human resource management or any of its specialized human resources management functions at an accredited college or university and have at least three years of experience at this level of teaching;
d) Are full-time consultants with at least three years experience as practitioners in human resource management. If the membership roster should reflect 10% or more of consultant members, no other consultants would be considered for membership until the proportion of consultants fall below 10%; OR
e) Are full-time attorneys with at least three years experience in counseling and advising clients on matters relating to the human resources profession. If the membership roster should reflect 10% or more of attorneys, no other attorneys would be considered for membership until the proportion of attorneys fall below 10%. Members of this class have the right to vote and may hold office in the Chapter.
General Members
Individuals who are engaged in the profession of human resource management in an exempt position but do not meet the requirements of Professional Members. Members of this class have the right to vote and may hold office in the Chapter excluding the positions of President or President-Elect.
Associate Members
Individuals in non-exempt human resource management positions. Associate members have the right to vote and may hold office in the Chapter excluding the positions of President or President-Elect.
Student Members.
Individuals who are students and hold National SHRM Student Membership. Student members may not vote or hold office in the Chapter.
